HALO ODST Firefight , 21 September 2009

Halo 3 ODST arrived with me on Saturday morning, and I have been playing it almost solidly all weekend. Its a much better game than Halo 3 and despite what all the nay-sayers have been spouting and spreading it is a legitmate stand alone game and although there is no revolution change to the gameplay from Halo 3 itself you will see a remarkable amount of content to play through.

The single player campaign is interesting and although I have yet to finish it due to the amount of time I have spent on 'Firefight' you will find hours of gameplay here...

The new gametype I am raving about is 'Firefight' and I would honestly buy the game if this was all you got. The only way I can describe it is as a sort of 'Defend a Point' style game. Yout team up with up to 3 local players or 3 xbox live players from your friends list. You guard a point where you have what I can only describe as a base behind you, where you can pick up health packs, ammo and grenades. There are a number of maps 1 of which I have been playing solidly all weekend, I haven't had a look at the others so I cannot comment on the variety, at a glance though there is about 12 maps 3 of which are locked and I haven't looked into unlocking these yet.

You are on high ground at the begining and enemy crafts descend from high above and drop off enemy mobs in succession. The artificial intelligence is really good and I have yet to finish the first map so there is definately hours worth of gameplay here.

Definately well worth the £30 launch price. I'd pay £40.   23 out of 28 people found this review helpful
