  Not your typical family, this one - this delightful film tackles issues which are heart-wrenching but rarely covered by Hollywood.
  
  Adopted children's desire to know about their birth fathers; lesbian couple's kids being half-siblings to each other; affairs' impact on homosexual relationships - these are adult topics you'll see explored with humour, sensitivity and colour by this film.
  
  Suzanne Moore and Annette Bening are both wonderful as the couple drawn from two very different corners of life; Mark Ruffalo I hadn't seen before but was also completely convincing as the donor father. The kids were effective too tho neither lit the screen up in quite the way as the adult folks.
  
  I hadn't know what to expect in this movie but found myself drawn right into it and for anybody looking for a couple of thought-provoking hours' of escapism in front of the screen, this is a great choice.   3 out of 4 people found this review helpful
