Victorian dilemma

This film is a mix of scientific discovery and personal tradgedy and is imbued with victorian views and principles! It explores Darwins dilemma in that publishing his theory he goes against God and his wife a devout Christian! It is almost as though he is being punished in his personal life for his beliefs! A must see film if a little long and with too many agonised close ups of Darwins face for my liking!Fine acting throughout and wonderful photography.- Was this review helpful to you?

Creation at snail's pace
By MelissaMarabamma (220 reviews) from South Coast UK , 20 Mar 2013Brilliant British Film but the Director could be accused of failing to get the audience to engage with the lead characters for the first 42 minutes. So whilst I am glad that I saw it all the way through, I was disappointed that it was such a slow start and such a narrow focus. This man is buried in Westminster Abbey; this tells you how much he suffered for such pivotally important science.
