[Highly rated reviewer]its a must see very funny
Too painful to watchBy a customer , 27 Mar 2012I remember watching this and loving it, with its exaggerated characters, unlikely situations, and Rik Mayall as the most unlikely MP ever. Now I realise that it was in advance of its time, predicting the present government and I just can't watch it.
New StatesmanBy simes (240 reviews) from near Gloucester , 10 Aug 2006If you like Rik Mayal then you will love this one, he plays Alan B'stard and it is very, very humourus, I reccomend it.
Absolutely side splittingly hilarious. seriously.By a customer from Stafford, Englandshire , 02 Jul 2006Other reviewers make dated sound like a bad thing. It is a product of its time and in retrospect the real Tories were tarred with sleaze. (How times have changed.)
Rik Mayall is simply fantastic, his physical comedy is unsurpassed and he truly is a B'stard.
Let's not forget Sarah B'stard, often overlooked, she is brilliant in getting one over Alan.
And Piers, oh dear...
Great fun!By gerryboy67 from East Dunbartonshire , 04 Dec 2005One of the funniest shows ever aired. Rarely seen on TV these days, criminally so. Rik Mayall's portrayal of the greedy Tory has to be seen to be believed. Great fun!
Mayall at his bestBy Coughlan from kent , 26 Nov 2005Usually Bottom and The young ones are put at the top of Rik Mayalls best performances, but for me the character of Alan b'stard is him at his egomaniacal best. No remorse No concern and no love for anything but himself he is the ultimate villain in British comedy.
