Ignore Everything You Have Heard

'Lost is the best TV show ever!' 'It's rubbish they just make it up as they go along!'
Ignore everything you may have heard about this show - good or bad. The only way to experience Lost (and yes it IS an experience) is to watch it yourself. You know the main premise, no need to bore you with it again. Ultimately Lost is about a group of people who are metaphorically Lost in their real everyday lives, and then they become physical Lost on a deserted island in the South Pacific.
Whilst the show does deal with generic desert island themes (survival, group dynamics, leadership, rescue), you very quickly learn that this island is no ordinary place. What makes the show work, is that because the writers make you care about the characters, and you learn so much about them due to the flashback device - the Sci-Fi/Fantasy elements become acceptable to you as a viewer.
Yes, the series slumps a little throughout the second and third season - but from the Season Three finale it was one hell of a roller coaster right until the very end.- Was this review helpful to you?

It does flip from one timeline to another so can get a bit confusing at times it is worth sticking with though. Totally Lost!
By Ron666 (12 reviews) , 02 May 2013Imagine reading a story with a beginning, a middle and NO ending! This is many of the Lost episodes... I watched it all and wish I had not. Soooo many story lines that go nowhere. You watch an episode where for instance there is a 'special baby' something dark and scary woooo and then the episode ends and you never get a finish to the story. Happens a lot :( The all powerful scary black smoke woooo must not make it to the mainland or the end of the world as we know it woooo and then the all powerful smoke turns out to be feeble yawn. Ends poorly too, watch 6 frustrating series if you wish, do as I did and speed through them but ultimately you will be left feeling the writers had no clue how to wrap up all the loose ends. SO THEY DID'NT!! I like many will never watch another jj lost writers nonsense again. Hence Alcatraz dieing before the second season. Fool us once... A V O I D unless you are ok with half a story with no answers...- Was this review helpful to you?

Great show and so addictive
