Season 1 of Lost is so good, this is the second time I'm viewing it now.

2004 was such a long time ago, yet it still remains one of the most haunting TV Shows of my childhood that still keeps me on the edge of my seat today. My blurred memory over the scenes helps to keep the suspense.

The characters and the dynamics are great and I've noticed the show revolves around the theme of freedom. Being trapped on the Island gives them a sense of being free from society and the need to set up their own group dynamics and follow their own laws within this lost place. The real people come out, contrasted with the people that used to live within normal society.

Apart from the added romance and fights and all the usual domestic disputes, what keeps this show mesmerizing - especially in this first season - is the pure mystery of the Island. After the first season we want to know the unanswered question of what's down that shaft and discover who 'The Others' are. These mysteries keep the show entertaining and will keep me watching the show. Hopefully the answers weigh their worth when all the suspense reaches its climax, I'm sure they will. Locke stated when Hurley questioned the contents of the shaft: 'it contains hope'... Similarly, I have hope this show will end just as well as how it started.

  • Some Sort Of Smoke.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHide

    And the monster returns.

John Locke comes face to face with the monster, (whatever it looks like) and he gets dragged through the forest and nearly dragged into a hole!!

It looks like some sort of smoke monster.

Jin hands over his watch to Micheal.

Charlie sets off a trap and gets injured.

Sayid has an interesting way of helping Charlie with gun powder!

'The airline has a policy that a man of your size must purchase two tickets!' (lol).

(Flashback) : Hurley is running around the airport trying to get to his flight!

'This is your lucky day,' as Hurley gets on the doomed flight!

Jack is a man of science and John Locke is a man of faith.

    'The island brought us here.'

John Locke is again getting philosophical.

    'I don't believe in destiny.'

    - 'Yes you do. - You just don't know it yet!'

John Locke gets carried onto the plane, (flashback).

'There's either two choices. You're either a hero or you want to die.'

    - 'Well I ain't no hero!'

They detect something out there on their monitor on the ship!

Sayid and Charlie catch up with Danielle and the baby.

    'I just wanted Alex back.'

Danielle believes the others said that they were coming for the boy (and I believe that is actually revealed later in this episode).

Hurley sees the numbers on the side of the hatch.

'You've got to stop the numbers are bad!' (lol).

The crew on board the ship fire out a flare.

A ship comes over to them and they're overjoyed!!

I think its the others and they want to take Walt!

Walt is kidnapped just as Claire's baby is returned.

There's a flashback to them all getting on the plane which is really good.

A sweaty Hurley boards the plane! (lol).

I love how everything links up in Lost!

And the first series draws to a close with Jack and John Locke looking the blown open hatch!!
