Essential romance
By a customer , 23 Dec 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
Vintage drama. Loved it. A classic romance beautifully filmed. It is the closest adaption to the novel I think. The film was also good but this one in my opinion is better because it slowly show us the characters and allows them to develop in front of our eyes.- Was this review helpful to you?

Delightfully romantic classic
By queen_mouse (2 reviews) , 08 May 2013Absolutely glorious adaptation of Austen's classic novel. Witty, charming and sweetly romantic with no over the top tendencies, this adaptation is true to the book and has aged very well. It has always been, and always will be, my favourite Austen adaptation. It is superior in every way to the 2005 Hollywood adaptation, which sadly reduced the story to an overtly cheesy and sappy soap opera. This mini-series is absolutely delightful in so many ways and is always worth a watch, even for people who might usually shy away from the period drama-genre.- Was this review helpful to you?

Excellent. Don't miss it.
By a customer , 18 Feb 2013An excellent adaptation, very close to Austen's the book, with brilliant wit and sharp humour. A million times better than the misguided 2005 movie, which seems to have mistaken Austen's sly classic for Charlotte Bronte's Wuthering Heights crossed with Mills & Boon.- Was this review helpful to you?

The best of british period romance
By 80sNostalgia (4 reviews) , 17 Feb 2013This is a must see, it's absolute classic. My favourite series of all time. Briiliantly acted, and much better in every respect than the more recent Hollywood remake with Keira Knightly.- Was this review helpful to you?
