Stories about Niagara Falls

My mother grew up not far from Niagara Falls and when we were growing up she used to tell us stories of dramatic near-escapes at the Falls. So watching this film was quite moving for me. The film begins with a Native American myth about the Falls, moves through a somewhat tedious section covering the couple of centuries after Europeans first visited there, and then on to the kind of tales of daring exploits, disasters and near-escapes my mother used to tell. I'm not sure they weren't better as stories than on film, and it would have made a better film to have one or two more of the exciting stories from the last 100 years and less of the slow-moving historical section. There's lots of dramatic footage of the Falls and the rapids, as you'd expect with an IMAX film.
So overall, not a film for everyone but might be worth watching for people planning a visit to the Falls or with some other reason to be interested in the subject matter.
