facinating documentary about forgotten league.By craig mitchell from Bognor Regis,England. , 24 Oct 2006
[Highly rated reviewer]This is a great docu/film about the meteoric rise and fall of the New York based soccer club the cosmos. From its lowly start in the early seventies to its peak at around 1977/78 season, when world stars such as pele',beckenbauer, alberta, chinagllia, played for the cosmos in front of record crowds of 70000+ at giants stadium. To the leagues demise in 1984 due to over expansion, poor attendances at the other 20 or so franchises, and teams using highly paid foreign import players who were past there best. The dream could not continue which was a real shame as the potential was there for a great long running league.Interviews include rodney marsh(tampa) carlos alberta(n.y) beckenbauer(n.y) and several other stars including some great footage of some of the games in new york.Highly reccommended for football fans of all ages.

Great documentary about egos, greed and footballBy Bassman71 (701 reviews) from Didsbury, England , 19 Sep 2011The incredible story of the New York Cosmos and the ups and downs of them and the NASL in the 1970s.
Huge personalities, egos, money and soccer mania all feature with story told by the people who were there (apart from Pele who declined) and one mans dream of getting the Worlds biggest game into the USA.
A fascinating documentary and if you have an interest in football (soccer) then this film is a must see.
Out of This worldBy a customer from New Malden , 09 Jan 2009A must for any one into football.Get some cans in and enjoy. It shows how football can even grab the yanks by the balls.
NY CosmosBy Rookey34 (4 reviews) from London , 07 Jan 2008I thought this was a very well made documentary and captured the whole mood of the period. It also shows that even with the best player in the world in Pele and Beckenbauer they still struggled to keep it going. Good luck Mr. Beckham!
Very InterestingBy a customer from Wales , 02 Aug 2007being too young to remember Pele and the footballers of that generation. I found this film Extremely interesting.
If You like Football...RENT THIS!By GMA (10 reviews) from London , 05 Jun 2007A very well made doco, easy on the eye with a good pace. There is some great footage interweaved with the moving stories of the contributors. The story of the Cosmos is a fascinating one and this film does an excellent job of telling it.
Worth watching just for the footage of Pele's silky skills alone, just a shame they couldn't get an interview with the big man.
