After being a long-time fan of U2 I have been pretty disenchanted of late with their antics. I refer to the re-packaging of several of their albums AGAIN, the price of the concert tickets. This programme did little to improve my opinion. If you want to test what I'm saying, try and leave anything other than a glowing recommendation of them on their MySpace account, or if you're in a band yourself, even leave a positive comment, and you'll see the degree of censorship involved. Franz Kafka eat your heart out... Music is a fickle industry. Either you catch the moment or you don't. Achtung Baby remains one of my favourite albums of all time, but the album I hear bears little relation to the navel gazing or back=-slapping contained in this programme. When all said and done, if there had been no Elvis there would have been no Bowie. Had there been no Bowie, it's unlikely that Bono would have been influenced to write such thought-provoking lyrics.
