Grange Hill Series 1 and 2By PeeknPoke (1 review) from Bolton , 13 Nov 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]Classic TV?
Look no further than Grange hill back in its prime (and about time it appears on DVD). Remember the advantures of Tucker's gang (including Benny!) as they venture into 'big school'. 1970s Schools were scary and these discs give a great look back at adventures we all had with our mates in School.
Bullet Baxter the teacher is here too! and look! 70s fastion! wow!
Grange hill caused a stir with its storylines causing teachers and parents to revolt.
now its gentle carm makes great viewing indeed and view more like a documentry of School 70s style than a TV show about kids!
Classic TV? oh yes please!

Back to the good ol' daysBy a customer from Ware , 18 May 2009Great to see this first series again. I didnt see the original broadcasts of this first series but to see the first episodes again just says to me 'thank god for someone saying 'this should be archived' '. Pity about the quality of the classroom scenes playback as i'm pretty sure the original broadcasts would have looked like effectively 'live' recordings. On a separate note, I wish teachers today still had the same powers to discipline todays kids at school as this first series of Grange Hill depicts, but time and politics changes all that doesnt it? Looking forward to seeing the next DVD's in the series.
just as good as I rememberedBy a customer from coventry , 06 Jan 2009I watched all these the first time round. No my daughter (aged 9) and I are watching them again. I have been waiting for years for these to come out on DVD and have not been disappointed. We can hardly wait for the next disc to arrive.
Nostalgic TVBy a customer from London , 30 Sep 2008Memories come flooding back as the gates of Grange Hill are re-open in this excellent ground breaking children's TV series. Can't wait to see the rest.
Just like being back at my schoolBy desmondsdoll (264 reviews) from Stockport , 29 Sep 2008This was brilliant - it was almost like being back at my old school with the things teachers said and even some of the kids looked just like people in my old class, lol
I can't believe how sweet and innocent Tucker Jenkins (Todd Carty) was though.
I absolutely loved it and am seriously considering buying all of the Grange Hill sets.
Back to SchoolBy Lukey69 (3 reviews) from Morpeth , 18 Jul 2008Wow this brought back some amazing memories. The hairstyles and the clothes. Although they were cheeky the kids were not really naughty Tucker, Benny and Justin climbing around the old Bomb Factory was it really a caneable offence? What did it actually have to do with the School it was only lunchtime. The bullys were naff as well but it brought back those tea time memories of when I was a kid. Excellent
