Brief synopsis of Death Wish 2

Charles Bronson returns with a vengeance (quite literally) in this sequel to the popular crime thriller DEATH WISH. Bronson reprises his role as vigilante Paul Kersey, whose family is once again victimized after moving to Los Angeles from New York. Kersey is mugged by a gang of street punks who later break into his home and brutally assault his maid and daughter, resulting in their deaths. So Kersey grabs his gun and takes the law into his own hands, carrying out a shocking plan of vigilante justice while police officials look on helplessly.

Halliwell's Film Guide

A badly made exercise in the exploitation of the most repellent aspects of violence, without the first film's saving grace of slickness and humour.

Definately not for the faint hearted. Very disturbing scenes in some places. Action not very convincing.

Maybe only good for its time period.

Not a bad film plenty of blood and bullets as the norm with Charles Bronson. This was one of the movies prior to them getting silly, o take a chance its ok.

My favourite of all the Death Wish films. Sure its very similar to the first one but still a good film if you like exploitation films. Not for the faint hearted and this is the cut version (to see the uncut version its available on Australian DVD and can be bought quite cheaply). Another highlight of the film is the soundtrack by the great Jimmy Page which adds to the atmosphere in the film. Recommended!

Bronson returns as the muggers worst nigthmare with the usual intent to rid the streets of scum. But Travis Bickle he ain't and it's hard to believe he'd be capable of coming up trumps against the young hoods he encounters in this slice of 80s hokum. Some very disturbing scenes of sexual violence and gratuitous violence, so it's not for everyone. But it does stand alone as a shining example of that particular brand of 80s urban movie which prevailed for many years.
