A box office smash, this film combines the comic stylings of funny-man Chris Tucker with the explosive action of superstar Jackie Chan. The two team up to battle the bad guys and, along the way, meet their fair share of dangerous situations.

Rated - 5 starsFunny As Hell - Good Action Comedy!!

A customer from North London , 17/11/2005

Ok, first off the person who said this is DULL in the review list - STAY OFF THE DRUGS!!

Totally funny film, this may not appeal to all, but this is an American production, 2 high quality actors in their own rights, Jackie Chan (Kung Fu) & Chris Tucker (American Comic) partner up in what is an unlikely combination which works well, the fact that Jackie Chan's english isn't that brilliant along with on occasion a confused Tucker's look as if to say 'what did you say' is a treat. Lots of one liners, its about a Hong Kong Diplomat in USA who owns a priceless collection of valuable artifacts, his daughter gets kidnapped and ransom wanted for her return, As he worked with 'Chan' in Hong Kong, he asks for him personally to come to the States, where the FBI do not want his intervention as they feel they can handle it and this is where LA Cop 'Tucker' enters the fray, messing up in his division, he is more than given away by his boss to the FBI only to be more of a Butler in keeping 'Chan' away from the Hong Kong Diplomat, the fun just only begins..... 5 star all the way.... and GO RENT PART 2, Hilarious ALSO!!

This was literally one of the most amazing films i have ever seen. The jokes are brilliant, the acting is intense, awesome use of effects and i haven't seen that guy doing all those stunts since i saw that other film where he does all those stunts. Great. Be aware though that this film has no stars in it. Some of the jokes had me in stitches, the bit where they did that dance!!! haha! really really funny! Also, they come across as really rubbish cops, but then manage to turn it round!!! haha!! Oh, it makes me laugh. And I mean ALOT!!!!

Rated - 4 starsShame About Chris Tucker!

Ian Davies from South Wales , 12/05/2005

Jackie Chan in his 'fish out of water' movie is everything you expect. He can be very funny, so why team him with one of the most annoyingly irritating comedy actors America has? Despite Chris Tucker this is still a fantastic film. Not as action packed as Jackie's Hong Kong efforts, but still an entertaning 90 minutes of stunts and flying fists 'n feet.

The first of a series of films that pairs Jackie up with a 'funny man'. Owen Wilson....where were you?

Rated - 3 starsA great suprise!

A customer from Huddersfield , 04/01/2008

Tired of explaning to people I hadn't seen a Rush Hour movie I gave the first one a try. It was a pleasant suprise.

Jackie Chan is on form as always, his stunt work, and they way he can get his body to move has always impressed me, and Chris Tucker was much less annoying then usual.

The only negative comment I have to say is it suffers from famous actor playing the suprise villian syndrome. When I saw a recognised actor in the opening minutes playing a walk on role I was sure he was going to have a bigger role.

Great for a laugh, but not something I'm going to rewatch a hundred times and all call perfect.
