Three girls in Hollywood enjoy the wild side of show-biz high life. The display of over-endowed ladies is sure to delight devotees of the female figure.

It sure is! Dubbed “BVD” by die-hard trash lovers, soft-core porn king Russ Meyer's hilarious exposé of Hollywood sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll is platinum-plated cult camp. Telling the fabulous rags-to-bitches story of all-girl band the Carrie Nations as they scale the dizzy heights of rock-star fame and then crash-land into decadent sleaze, Meyer's pneumatic parody flashes between soap-opera morality, caricature deviance, flower-power lunacy and shock horror with such breathless audacity that you'll watch it in open-mouthed disbelief. All this and music by the Strawberry Alarm Clock, too.

Halliwell's Film Guide

The skinflick director's first film for a major studio, with positively no connection with Valley of the Dolls, is not explicitly pornographic but pussyfoots around with as many general excesses as can be crammed into two hours. If taken as high ca

if you want to know where Mike Myers got his inspiration for Austin Powers then look no further than this absolute gem.The over the top acting has to be seen to be believed. There is some baffling direction and a superbly hippy soundtrack. One to be watched ( with open mouths)with friends.

One of my all-time favourite cult movies is Russ Meyers' eye-poppingly lurid rock 'n' roll melodrama, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.

We all know the clichés of the rock musical; the talented singer, the bad agents, the DRUGS!! the VIOLENCE!! the redemption through pain and suffering. That's all just a starting point for Mr Meyer who manages to add hermaphrodites, murder and Nazis into an already heady brew.

Beware, if you were expecting a sequel to the tlumpen melodrama of 'The Valley of the Dolls' this goes way beyond that valley and into Meyer Universe - a Universe unlike any other

Glorious stuff and a treat for fans of the cult movie

This is the movie where Austin Powers gets his lines from. Seriously, Mike Myers must have been a fan.

This is absolutely hilarious surreal madness from the off. Fast cutting, massive jugs, sex, drugs, rock and roll (Strawberry Alarm Clock are the band at the first party), and insane soap before it's time plotting. Meyer had the biggest budget of his career for this, and the studios didn't know what hit them! Certainly the average teen rock band running into trouble in Hollywood storyline has never been done quite so OTT and trashy as this. There's any huge fun to be had in the supposedly 'po-faced' moments'.

I literally love this film, but for God's sake don't watch this if:

you haven't got a sense of humour,

don't like bad taste trash cinema,

are not a John Waters/Russ Meyer fan.

It is not to be taken seriously in any way, but if you're willing to kick back for an insane laugh, some alcohol, or anything else going for a couple of hourse then this may be your perfect flick.

'This is my happening and it freaks me out!' Pure acid crazed fundelic pleasure!

100% Fun from the off. Russ Meyer was a director who knew no bounds, Sex,Drugs and Rock'N'Roll, and that's just the titles!

When does the party star? When you get there!

Just one of many classic dialogue scenes. Indulge yourself....Russ does!

I tried watching it, I really wanted to like it, but it's just so boring. I didn't make it very far, but I had seen enough bad dialogue, bad music, appalling acting, and unattractive women to not want to continue. I would have given it half a star but there isn't an option to.

I found Beyond the Valley of the Dolls it toe-twitching boring.
