Brief synopsis of Frankenfish

The follow-up from Mark A.Z. Dippe, FRANKENFISH stars Muse Watson (I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER) and Tory Kittles in a story that pits a pack of huge, mutant, flesh-eating fish against the human inhabitants of a Bayou town. A genetic engineering experiment gone horribly awry, these monsters are the result of a cross between a fish and a snake, and can travel on land as well as swim, and they have a taste for blood, leaving a trail of gruesome corpses up and down the river. The local authorities don't realize what they are up against before the death toll mounts considerable, and by then it may just be too late to stop the creatures.

Rated - 1 starsan INCREDIBLY racist film

stripelord stripelord from Edinburgh , 26/07/2007

this has to be one of the most racist film I have ever seen. every single white person in this film is depicted as either being stupid, selfish, alcoholic, a whining mess or inhumanly cruel. i can't help but feel that if these characters were acted by ethnicities other than caucasians, there would be an absolute uproar.

I wanted to like this film, I really did, but after watching it I wish it would have been a) funnier and more willing to poke fun at itself or, b) genuinely scary / gory. As it stands it is neither of these and as a result it struggles to appeal to any genre of film fan.

a VERY weak film. I would advise you not to waste your time renting this rubbish. get Cabin Fever instead.

Rated - 5 starsHAIL TO THE FISH!!!

A customer from Cheltenham (The 'Nam) England , 19/08/2005

This is the 'godfather' of cheesy killer fish movies. I had expected some channel 5 ish thing going on here but was pleasantly surprised. If you like films where you know someone is going to die next but don't know who then rent this.

Rated - 3 starsWere gonna need a bigger fishmonger

paul wooding from Skelmersdale, Lancashire , 30/03/2005

Initially i thought oh yeah frankenfish!!! i dont think so but despite desperate pleas by my family to 'get a life' i ordered it and was pleasantly surprised. We sat through it with very few groans it was actually quite good. The usual elements were present, the token babe with her boobs hanging out, the love intrest, the hero and the bad guy and of course the badddd fish which by CGI standards was quite convincing a bit like one bad assed cod loin.

The plot kept on intrested and there was some good jumpy scenes and oh there's legs, heads and half bitten torso's everywhere.

So if you want whats reminds me of a retro 70's slasher but with fish this is for you enjoy.

Rated - 1 starsFrankenfish......the plankton of horror films.

darren beadsley from High Green, Sheffield , 24/09/2005

My friend has a goldfish. One of its eyes hangs out in a bulbous fashion which looks rather strange. It also looks a dam sight scarier than frankenfish!!!!!! Dull is not the word for this stagnent pond of a film. The actors are so bad they make Liz Hurley look like an oscar winner and the effects for the frankenfish.........well like i said earlier, my friends fish is a lot scarier. The only thing i love about the film is the campy title. Now,....when are they going to make FRANKENKITTEN???? i would SO love THAT!!!

Rated - 1 starsAnyone got a maggot?

Dirk from telfrod , 30/03/2005

Not a bad movie, totally cheesey, and quite poorly put together, but unlike some of the other films I have rented of late. At least this one's is up higher on the scale than 1 or 2.

It's purely light semi-horror entertainment, and it is reasonably enjoyable. At least it is something that hasn't been done for quite a long time (man eating fish)

It's not good enough to be a weekender movie, but maybe one for late at night in the week when nowt else on the tv is worth watching.
