Rating of 3 stars out of 5 Radio Times

A seminal trip down mammary lane for Russ Meyer, the “King Leer” of the American soft-core sexploitation industry. The plot has something to do with corrupt sheriff Harry (Charles Napier, a Meyer favourite) trying to keep the lid on his marijuana-smuggling scam when threatened with exposure by a rival Indian drugs runner. Punctuating the flimsy story are sharply-edited bedroom scenes showing Harry, nurse Cherry and mob mistress Raquel in all manner of sexual situations. Buxom starlet Uschi Digard (another Meyer stalwart) bounces around the desert in some comic inserts that only add to the lurid lunacy. Witty and compact, this tried-and-tested combination of sex, violence and humour was scripted by famed author Tom Wolfe under the pseudonym Thomas J McGowan.

Halliwell's Film Guide

Little more than a series of violent or sexual incidents, which only have a vague connection with each other; as with Meyer's other films, there's time to contemplate why his characters are always so angry with each other.
