Directed by Michael Cimino, whose overblown Heaven's Gate all but destroyed United Artists, it stars the impressive Jon Seda as a teen hoodlum dying of cancer. After breaking out of prison, Seda takes passing doctor Woody Harrelson hostage and forces him to drive to a mystical lake that, according to legend, has healing properties. Their relationship develops en route. Though well intentioned, it's somewhat pretentious and Harrelson is miscast.
