Brief synopsis of Saw II

Jigsaw is back. The brilliant, disturbed mastermind who wreaked havoc on his victims in last year's SAW is back for another round of horrifying life-or-death games. When a new murder victim is discovered with all the signs of Jigsaw's hand, Detective Eric Mathews (Donnie Wahlberg) begins a full investigation and apprehends Jigsaw with little effort. But for Jigsaw, getting caught is just another part of his nefarious plan. Eight more of his victims are already fighting for their lives - and now it's time for Mathews to join the game…

It takes the lead with its smoother landing, which is again primed to blow the movie wide open, but manages a more compelling job of it than the original's cheat finish.

The movie was GOOD and twisted! The story was very creative “and yes, there will be blood” – plenty of it. You finally get to see the killer and understand his history and motive for giving his victims a “choice”. The opening scene is guaranteed to make you cringe if not scream. There is no need for a part 3 – I hope they close the story here. Please see the first Saw before watching Saw II – you will appreciate it more.

Rated - 4 starsOh Yes there will be more Blood!!

Wow! After this film had finished I ran straight to the bar for a stiff shot of whiskey. 'Saw II' in my eyes was just as Clever, tense and gruesome, with yet another wicked messed up ending, to get your brain twisted again!

One to definitely watch if you liked the first 'Saw'. I have to say, coming from myself who gets scared at the very sight of blood, I do find 'Saw 1 and 2' pretty sick and disturbing to the point where I just can't get this film out of my head it sticks with you for about 2 days after.

Great start and great finish, Excellent film yet again!

Rated - 5 starsDisturbing and Truly Excellent

Lynsey from Scotland , 05/11/2005

I was shocked by just how good this film was. From the second it started your attention is locked in, when the end credits rolled at the cinema I was still sitting there eyes wide, mouth open and it took several minutes to snap myself out of it.

I agree that you MUST see the first film before watching this one, I found this one twice as good as the first but for the 2nd to make perfect sense you have to see the first one.

Acting is very good, the death scenes are more disturbing than gory I would say which is far more exciting to watch. There are some real moments of true originality which for a thriller/horror film is quite an achievement.

Don't think twice just go and see it, better at the cinema as with all scary films.

YOU MUST SEE THIS FILM !!!

Rated - 4 starsAlmost as many nightmares as Saw I

Saw II got me again; Still stomach-churning and twisted but maybe lacking a bit of the novelty value of the first one. I'm a fan of the concept though and it's definately worth watching.

Did not like the first Saw but this film came with it and I decided I might as well find out what happens in the second version.

It was the samy dirty grovel of a place with characters making me feel quite ill. I know that there are people out there who like gory details but this was not for me.

Rated - 1 starsWorst film I have ever seen!

jay1011 from Somerset , 30/01/2006

I really enjoyed the first film, but the sequel is appalling. It is just a poor cash in of the franchise. The acting is poor and the story is terrible. If you want something equal to the first 'Saw', I would advise you to watch the first one again!
