This early attempt to send up the Fatal Attraction/Basic Instinct genre is a patchy affair that's enlivened by the enthusiastic playing of the cast. Arye Gross plays a compulsive liar working at a hotel whose fantasy world is interrupted when he gets mixed up with murderous femme fatale Claudia Christian. Director Alan Spencer produced the TV spoof Sledge Hammer!, but he struggles to bring the brainless charm of that series to this big-screen outing. However, Gross is an accomplished comedy player, there's nice support from Hal Hartley favourite Adrienne Shelly and a wonderfully over-the-top performance from Christian as the psychotic beauty.
