Brief synopsis of Lower City

A steamy love triangle set in the low life milieu of Brazil's Salvador del Bahia, where violence is always likely to erupt. Deco and Naldhino are lifelong friends and co-owners of a small boat. On a trip down the river they give a ride to Karinna, a young hooker whose services they enthusiastically pay for. Neither of them realises the force of passion, obsession and jealousy they are about to unleash...

'Lower City' follows the 'relationship' between three underworld characters in a sin-city esque Portugal.

Two 'brothers from different mothers' see their strong friendship slowly disintegrate as they both fall for the same girl-a beautiful prostitute (and she is beautifull)-who comes between them (no pun intended).

This is well worth a watch, and if you enjoyed flicks like 'Amores Perros' or 'City Of God' then this will be up your street!

A low key film about a two lifelong friends who hustle to earn a living and their chance encounter with a rather tidy prostitute, causing much grief with the ensuing love triangle, as their friendship is severely tested. Don't expect a Hollywood-style blockbuster; rather a low budget, watchable portrayal of love, lust, loyalty, legs (and she knows how to use them!) set against the daily struggle of the poor underclass of Brazil
