Brief synopsis of Take The Lead

Based on a true story, the film centres on the dashing Pierre Dulaine, an idealistic New York City ballroom dancer who was the subject of the runaway documentary hit MAD HOT BALLROOM (2005). After spying the desperate and violent actions of a young and angry high schooler named Rock, Dulaine becomes intent on channelling his talent into the service of troubled youth, and almost immediately approaches Rock's tough but well-meaning high school principal (Alfre Woodward) with the idea of teaching ballroom dancing to detention students.

Rated - 5 starsHot!

They just don't make good dance movies like this anymore! Antonio sizzled when he showed his students how it's done.

If you like Dirty Dancing, and great dance flicks, don't miss this one! From the actors, to the storyline and even the dancing was really good. (I did ballroom dancing for many years, so I can tell when an actor can pull it off. JLo/Richard Gere recently didn't, Antonio and his crew...definitely did!) This is one film that I can say the film was as good as, if not better than the trailer. Don't miss!

Got to be the best dance film ever. This even beats dirty dancing. The young cast are fantastic as is Antonio Banderas, the character of inspirational dance teacher really suits him and unlike most hollywood stars he can actually dance really well.I loved the soundtrack which is clever fusion of Hip-Hop and classic latin and ballroom.Fantastic dancing, cast and music.what more could you want!

This film was great entertainment. Predictable but very groovy. A smashing performance from Antonio Banderas. This film is young, groovy fresh and fun, makes you want to take up dancing.

I really liked the idea of this film and it really portrayed the difficulty in bonding and showing some real down and out kids that they can have a goal and use real talent against all the odds.

This is an enjoyable film & I did love the dancing.

The story line & end are very predictable . Banderas was disappointing -expected him to smoulder
