Investigating a series of shark attacks, a marine biologist (played by Casper Van Dien from Starship Troopers) discovers something fishy in the waters off the coast of Africa. This is the video fodder version of Deep Blue Sea, and a very long way from the expertly created suspense of its ultimate inspiration, Jaws. But, for a B picture, it is remarkably ambitious — fast moving, packed with spectacular shark effects and shot on rarely seen, picturesque South African locations.
