Rating of 3 stars out of 5 Radio Times

Investigating a series of shark attacks, a marine biologist (played by Casper Van Dien from Starship Troopers) discovers something fishy in the waters off the coast of Africa. This is the video fodder version of Deep Blue Sea, and a very long way from the expertly created suspense of its ultimate inspiration, Jaws. But, for a B picture, it is remarkably ambitious — fast moving, packed with spectacular shark effects and shot on rarely seen, picturesque South African locations. It spawned a sequel, Shark Attack 2.

Jaws on Valium, a tired, badly-acted drama.

Rated - 2 starsNOT AS BAD AS YOU MIGHT THINK

STEVEO1 from BERKSHIRE , 17/09/2004

This film actually has a plot, rather than the usual shark killer movie this will keep you entertained on more than one level. If you like Jaws mixed in with some twists and turns then this film is for you.

Don't put yourself through this, honestly. After 20 mins I had to turn it off which I should've done after the first 5!!

1 star is pushing it but there's no lower rating unfortunately....

Rated - 2 starsShark Attack Outdated version of Jaws.

Cornetto from Lancaster [Highly rated reviewer] , 15/05/2007

Shark Attack feels like an out-dated Jaws Movie, similar movie however this JAWS has been mutated by experiments so if there was ever a shark with a bad attitude, this is the one. The film is watch-able but I have definitely seen much better, watch the original JAWS for better chills in the water.
