Rated - 4 starsWorth watching - much better than the reviews led me to believe

I'd seen the trailer for this film and thought it looked quite good. However, upon checking the reviews I found an average score of 5/10. I'm quite fussy with films and generally find that I rate films one star below the average rating, however upon watching this film I was pleasantly surprised. Althought there aren't really any side-splitting jokes, there is pretty much a constant stream of funny lines delivered throughout the entirity of the whole film. No naff (really obvious) jokes spoil it, and the pace moves along qute well. The film has a satisfying end, and there are some good characterizations too (the guy wth the glasses being one of my favourites). Overall : recommended (7.5 / 10)

Rated - 5 starsfilm of the Month?

Kh08 from Bristol , 15/05/2007

I loved this, yes it may turn out to be a guilty pleasure like those of you that enjoy Howard the Duck or Earth girls are easy.

I was expecting an american Pie or waiting type of humour but was surpirsed at how clean and pure this was. A great cast and no real slo-mo shes gorgeous jessica Simpson scenes (albeit her acting is a it wooden).

A couple of years ago I would have expected to see Ryan Reynolds as the main star and the casting agent obiviously had the same thoughts when choosing the actor.

A great supporting cast including andy dick and Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite.

very much felt that the film was made with tongue firmly in cheek kinda like Naploeon.

Certainly worth viewing overy recent tenn comedies, light hearted and fun with some laugh out moments (1 or 2)

Go on you know you'll like it.

Rated - 3 starsAverage plot but v. funny

A customer from Cardiff , 22/01/2007

I enjoyed the film, although I wouldn't want to watch it again. It was very funny in parts and is a great film to watch if you have nothing else to do, and just want to chill out with some friends on a sunday evening. However don't go out of your way to watch it. Im giving it 3/5 because it was funny although predictable, although Im sure you knew it would be. It had some great laugh out loud moments. I dont mean to be cruel however I think I know why Jessica Simspon didn't have many lines...

Rated - 4 starsGood fun

You will enjoy this film if you like Hott Fuzz or Click.

A good humoured film about 2 employee's one who is mr perfect never late, does everything right, and up for promotion, and the other who is the complete opposite that is untll a new checkout girl arrives (Jess Simpson).

The employee of the month comp then gets very interesting with a complete role reverse, who wins??? you can guess but alot of laughs to be had on the way.

An enjoyable film ideal for a Saturday night laugh.

Rated - 1 starsSo Bad

A customer from London , 09/08/2007

I didn't expect much of a film evolving around a desire to win employee of the month in a supermarket, but I saw this with the promise of watching Jessica Simpson. Unfotunately there is very little of her, and the whole plot is just cheesey, predicatable and not very funny.

One thing that really stood out was the blond guy who did special dancing moves when scanning items at his checkout. How upset would you be if your cashier decided to turn your weekly shopping event into a circus show? And yet in this film people applauded and swooned all over this. And then while this guy was supposed to be serving customers he decides to go mop up a spillage on the shop floor. And he gets employee of the month?!

Avoid.
