Rated - 5 starsA Passionate Jane Eyre...

After reading the books many times, I find Jane Eyre is a passionate and independent character. After watching many different versions of Jane Eyre I have become increasingly disappointed in the lack of passion between the main characters.

I decided to try this version as my last hope in finding a version of Jane Eyre which brings out the passion within this young lady. Why else does Mr Rochester fall in love with Jane if it is not for her passionate and interesting nature.

After watching this, I have had to purchase it to add to my collection of great British classics. The two actors chosen for this adaptation are perfectly suited. This version has been perfectly infused with good cinema photography, great acting and the ability to stay quite true to the book.

I loved this version and I shall never watch another version again, this is going to sit next to the BBC's version of Pride and Prejudice on my shelf and be the pride of my collection.

If you do nothing else, you must watch this amazing story.

I came to this adaption with a clean slate: I had never read the novel. Nevertheless, the story was surprisingly captivating and the characters (and I mean ALL the characters) were truly engaging. I would never have considered myself a fan of a period romance, but, alas, I must admit that I am.

Great story, great characters, great adaption. 5 stars!

Hurried through, sexed up for the modern viewer whom will probably never be inclined to read the source novel, Ruth Wilson is good though, shame she was not around for Timothy Dalton's Rochester.....

Rated - 4 starsFabulous!!

As a big fan of the original novel, I have long waited for an adaptation that does it justice. At last I have found it. No big names, flashy locations etc just a well acted/presented drama.

Well recommended.

Good - if slightly long - adaptation. Perfect for a lazy Sunday.
