Well crafted TV Series. The programmes manage to weld a personal lifestyle development for the central characters as well as developing quite intricate individual plot lines.

The series explores the world of investigative procedures allied to the world of pathology.

The series is an ideal companion for 'Waking the Dead', another series which follows similar themes, allying itself to 'Cold case' investigations.

I have just finished watching the first two series of Silent Witness and I must admit I had forgotten how good the early episodes were. OK so Amanda Burton does come over as a bit superior and her voice is agravating but these early shows were much more enjoyable than the more recent ones. Take my advice and give them a chance - I think you may be surprised

I enjoyed this very much. Seeing Sam in her family setting was interesting for me as I had missed out on the earliest series. I like the strong-willed confident person that she presents but couldn't see her attraction towards the policeman boyfriend who kept undermining and questioning her abilities.
