Bug is worthless and probably the worst film I have seen in 2007. The last 15-minute are pretty good and quite interesting, the acting is fine and the DIY dentistry stands out, but the film is just so very slow and very dull for most of 100-minute runtime, with a lack of interesting characters, an interesting situation or any sense of atmosphere. The seemingly low budget doesnt help the film either - with a small cast, limited locations and no effects.I understand the movie the director was trying to make (showing the two main characters losing more and more of their mind as the film progresses, until the end where they have completely lost it) but it was just so badly put together that it was a mess in the end without much in the way of positives.

A stunning return to form from Friedkin. Bug is a study of power, manipulation, control conspiracy and paranoia. Brilliant lead performances and a fantastic use of tin foil. Now Cronenberg is making thrillers the hole he left is filled admirably by Friedkin. It's stage play origins are obvious but the dialogue is honed to perfection and absolutely riveting. This is much more The Fly than French Connection! A must see for fans of cinematic freak outs!

I absolutely LOVED 'The Exorcist' which the director of this film directed and i think it will be a cult horror classic. 'Bug' on the other hand....................DEFINETLY NOT!!!!!!I cannot explain how bad this film is!!!! Just because the director made a masterpiece before does not mean all his films are going to be. This film was a total mess from a boring low-key beginning to a well lets put it an even more dreadful boring low-key ending. No plot what so ever!!! I GUESS THE FILM TEAM HAD NO BUDGET SO THEY COULD NOT AFFORD FAMOUS HOLLYWOOD ACTORS!!! Who were those people! I think the director tried to acheive that because we don't know the actors we would sympathise for them, but,YOU JUST DON'T!!!One word sums this whole film up, CRAP!!DONT RENT IT!!
