Rated - 1 starsSoo Disappointed

I like the actors in Strange Wilderness in most films I have seen with them but this is just a completely over the top stupid film with no visible laughs save one which was when I laughed at a car gag and wasn't related to the script. I watched this with a friend and we are both a fan of stupid comedies but this one left us waiting for the laughs to start. The characters weren't amusing, the storyline was lacking and we finished watching the film completely bewildered as to why we had bothered.

I won't watch it again, and there are very few films I would say that about. Thats not to say people won't enjoy it, I definitely wasn't looking for any hidden meaning but a complete lack of meaning left the whole thing resigned to my pile of wasted moments in my life.

Rated - 2 starsAwful awful awful

That said I did watch the whole thing and did laugh out loud a few times, but it really was BAD.

The story line is weak, the acting is weaker, the jokes even weaker, so why did I watch it all, I dunno, it was just quite watchable and maybe I thought it would get better.

IT DIDN'T!

Rated - 3 starsPLenty of outrageous laughs, although strained at points

tunnelweb from Hamilton [Highly rated reviewer] , 08/08/2008

This film will unavoidably be compared to Life Aquatic, but this is not a fair comparison. While Life Aquatic is rather deep, despite its comedy and being set in a world ever-so-slightly removed from the reality, Strange Wilderness is rather shallow fun set in the real world. There are plenty of outrageous laughs for any sense of humour, although the film does feel a little strained at points, with some scenes feeling like filler falling flat. Still, it passes the time.

i think this is an attempt at a comedy film.. but to quote a line from the movie 'the show sucks'.. don't waste a rental slot on it (i have given the one star for the native girls dance)
