Rated - 5 starsJudge John Deed the bench mark

Chrisaljack from Haywards Heath [Highly rated reviewer] , 26/05/2008

The Kavanagh QC series has been the bench mark for British Legal TV programmes for the last decade. Judge John Deed has surpassed Kavanagh and now becomes the new bench mark. It will have to be a heck of a good series of programmes to surpass these!

The real strength of the Judge John Deed series is that it operates on three levels: each 90 minute programme is complete in itself for a casual viewer, but there are also two underlying, long-term, complex sub-plots: 1) the Judge's love life and his relationships and 2) his fight against the Establishment. For this reason, the whole series needs to be seen, from the first episode through to the end. Do not be tempted to pick up the latest series first!
