The 2007 Doctor Who Christmas Special sees the Doctor crash land on the Titanic...

Note to Mr Davies - stunt casting bad actors (stand up and be counted Kylie - and it wasn't as if anyone who had seen you 'act' didn't know who terrible you are), never a good idea. This was poorly written, and generally badly performed (kudos to Clive Swift, the only one to emerge with self-respect intact). Davies scripts can be wonderfully witty, and very clever - but can also be appalling mawkish - this was one of the worst (and not surprising after the tacky shout Tinkerbell, children ending to series 3).Only for completists and, I assume, to notice Bernard Cribbins who seems to be turning up S4 too.

Being a huge David Tennant fan as the Doctor, and a bitter and twisted one after watching this over Xmas with also the re-runs, sadly this is one of worst adventures of David Tennant's time as the Doctor. Please don't bring back the Hosts and the very average/poor'ish actress named Kylie Minogue for another encounter. Not a patch on the first David Tennant's first encounter (the Xmas story of 2005) in my opinion.Having said all that, the kids will no doubt love it - I've just grown up, become critical and lost some of my imagination.

The metaphoric use of Angels, discrimination, and class may put a few people off, if they notice them, but the humor and adventure should keep you entertained. It IS a, ultimately, a TV show. The effects are, of course, excellent. The acting is quite good and, unlike other critics, I see nothing wrong with Kylie's performance. It's a touching and wistful role which she does very well. The plot has a few holes in it - but then most Doctor Who shows do. A good Christmas romp second only to 'The Runaway Bride'.

Have to get this for my boy and just need to remember that he can watch the repeat on his own and I don't have to watch this pooh again. What a complete waset of 90 mins on Christmas day when the whole family had to endure this absolute tosh.
