Brief synopsis of Tremors - HD DVD Version

The race to higher ground is on when two handymen and a local seismology student discover that their little town of Perfection, Nevada is infested with stinky subterranean man-eating worms. A very well-done comedy-horror film that salutes a host of horror films from bygone years.

Tremors is an unashamadly wholehearted throwback to the B-Movie creature features of the 50's and 60's and all the better for it. A large part of the appeal and success of this film is down to the cast, Kevin Bacon( Val ) and Fred Ward ( Earl) are on great form as two luckless handymen who share a trailer, avoid work like the plague and bicker like old women.

While out in the desert, Val and Earl are chased by some giant slug thing that burrows at incredible speeds and tracks by vibrations. They manage to kill it, only to find that this one was just the start and the rest of the family are heading their way. With the help of cute geology student, Rhonda (Finn Carter), they organise the small towns to fight off the sand slug invasion.

A funny, cheesy, buddy/monster movie, and a very decent HD transfer.
