By strange coincidence I received this disc at the same time as the film made many years ago. So I could compare this modern production with lifts and television , and the film won hands down. Malnly because the Wolf's Glen was as I had always imagined it. Not with furniture and a television set. Both contain glorious music with delightful orchesration. In my opinion this one of the most tuneful operas composed, and at least the film should not be missed.
